  • 7:40AM Siyyum – Those who are firstborn in their families fast the day before Pesah to acknowledge the suffering of the firstborn in Egypt.  You may exempt yourself from fasting by participating in a meal following a siyyum (the completion of a significant piece of Jewish learning), which will be led this year by Shira Hannah Fisher.

We’ll zoom in for a closer look at the four steps (Tzafun, Bareich, Hallel, Nirtzah) following the meal. Join Rabbi Hamilton for 60 minutes of Seder closure that will feature two cups of wine, singing, and some fresh takes on Elijah’s role in helping us seek heavenly expanse amidst our tight times.

Thursday, April 9, 2020 – 1st Day of Pesah

  • 9AM Festival Shaharit – Sarah Kraft Prize: For the twentieth year, we honor a college student on the first day of Pesah, in memory of Sarah Kraft.  Ben Lefkowitz, this year’s awardee, will deliver the sermon. Tal (Prayer for Dew): During Musaf services, Rachel Lerner will don a kittel and chant tal.  We begin to include the prayer for dew in our daily tefillot, setting aside our prayers for winter rain.
