Dear Members of our KI Community,
We are excited to introduce our approach to celebrating the upcoming High Holy Days. Our aim is to blend a top priority of safety with some of the higher purposes that lie at the heart of the season’s solemnity. Two such purposes are the focus of our attention this year in particular: 1) a humble reunion with life’s fragility, and 2) summoning the might of our resilience.
In this spirit, here are some current elements of our planning:
- Complete online traditional Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services
- Limited opportunities to participate at KI in person
- Enhancements
-Tashlich Deluxe (Several 30 min slots Days 1 & 2 including shofar and prayers)
-Spiritual Electives (45 min afternoons sessions Days 1 & 2) - Month of Special Preparation
-Grow in Soul lunchtime Elul sessions with our rabbis
-Sacred Sharings (Collection of your stories and reflections)
-Shofar sounding workshops - Everyone will receive a Personalized Gift Kit including Prayer Books and selected enrichments (You will have the opportunity to customize your Kit beginning on August 18)
Here’s how you can help us:
- Consider purchasing your High Holy Day seats as a donation this year (registration will begin August 18). We will make every effort to provide limited, safe opportunities for those who are interested in joining us in person to be able to do so.
- Share your questions, ideas, and suggestions at a Congregational Town Hall meeting, two weeks from tonight (August 16 at 7:30 pm). A Zoom link will be shared via email.
As we strive to provide a more customized and purposeful celebration this year, we so appreciate your understanding, your patience, and your support. We are also eager to be responsive. Please be in touch with questions and suggestions for steps we can take to make this as meaningful a High Holy Day season for you and your extended family as possible.
Gratefully wishing you a continued safe and restorative Summer.
